The IHG Vignette Collection sees double

The Vignette Collection is set to double in size in one year. This grouping of non-standardized luxury hotels, launched in summer 2021, currently brings together 11 hotels including the Casa da Companhia in Porto and the Convent Square in Lisbon, the Sindhorn Midtown hotel in Bangkok and the Yours Truly DC to Washington. It will have 12 new ones during the year 2024 , most of them in large metropolitan areas. Which made Tom Rowntree, vice president of luxury and lifestyle brands at IHG, say: “ This year, we are making great strides towards our ambition of opening 100 new Vignette Collection properties over the next 10 years .”

This ball of openings was opened by The Halyard hotel in Liverpool, a 133-room establishment in the lively Ropewalks district, with industrial interiors paying homage to the heritage of the region’s docklands. At the same time, the Vignette Collection also welcomed a new resort in Thailand, the Dinso Resort & Villas Phuket. Other luxury and leisure hotels will also join it in the second half of the year with another establishment in Thailand, the Dinso Resort & Villas Koh Chang, or the Rumah Luwih hotel in Bali.

More surprisingly, the brand will also be able to boast a beautiful hotel at the foot of the slopes … in Shanghai! Hosted within the Shanghai Yaoxue Snow World complex, one of the city’s ski and ice venues, the Shanghai Snow World Hotel, Vignette Collection will offer 272 rooms and 17 suites with direct access to the ski slopes. The brand is also expecting others with the Heibei Grand Hotel, the Hangzhou Huaxia Center Hotel, the Xanadu Guangzhou and the WM Hotel.

With its location on a beach along the Persian Gulf, the Arabella Beach Hotel in Kuwait also has the air of an urban resort. However, the vocation of this hotel with 195 rooms and suites expected during the spring is above all business due to its location, in the Hawally district. Either at the heart of political power and not far from the headquarters of many Kuwaiti companies and banks.

Still in the Middle East and again this spring, the Vignette Collection will also make its debut in Qatar, in the lively Lusail district, with the Velero Doha, Vignette Collection. A hotel offering numerous places to eat and relax, but also a MICE space with two ballrooms . Closer to home, in Hungary, the brand will welcome into its ranks this summer a high-end boutique hotel in Budapest, the Verno House. Overlooking Place de la Liberté, this intimate 50-room house is distinguished by a Michelin-starred restaurant, but also, for business travelers, by its library which can be used as a flexible meeting space.

While the IHG group focuses on the development of its luxury and lifestyle brands, its Kimpton brand will join the Vignette Collection in Lisbon. If the luxury collection was installed last year in the historic walls of a former convent in the heart of the Portuguese capital , the lifestyle brand will take place by 2026 within an existing hotel close to the Avenida Liberdade and Eduardo VII Park. A 141-room establishment belonging to the Real Hotel Group which will be redesigned under the aegis of the famous design studio Rockwell Group as a lifestyle hotel. With, as it should be, bar and swimming pool on the roof.
