BOVET presents the Recital 12 metal bracelet

After more than two hundred years of know-how and creation of the most beautiful works of art measuring time, BOVET unveils the Recital 12, the very first timepiece mounted on a metal bracelet, designed as a constant companion

The development of Recital 12 lasted more than two years. Owner wanted to respond to the demand from many collectors around the world for a timepiece to wear every day, particularly on a bracelet.

Historically, the House has always favored leather, fabric or rubber straps. But many collectors asked us for a metal bracelet,” explains the owner of BOVET. “I am very attached to details when it comes to comfort and design. As for the metal bracelet, it had to be close to perfection. My team and I therefore worked on this timepiece for two entire years, version after version, until we obtained the desired result.

“This bracelet is extremely comfortable, it fits the wrist perfectly and can be worn all day long,” he continues. “I think it represents the perfect combination of style, comfort and lightness, while retaining the watchmaking attention to detail that characterizes the House and which will appeal to collectors across the globe. »

The Recital 12 is equipped with a new 40mm case, a redesigned and reconfigured manual wind movement, all mounted on a metal bracelet. Entirely in titanium, this timepiece is light and ergonomic, yet remains faithful to the codes of fine watchmaking.

Titanium: ultimate material

The choice of material for Recital 12 was absolutely crucial. Over the years, the House has distinguished itself with its timepieces in 18-carat white and red gold, stainless steel, platinum and even sapphire. BOVET has only recently included titanium in its portfolio.

Lightweight and durable, titanium is the ideal material for timepieces, due to its high corrosion resistance, scratch resistance and hypoallergenic nature.

BOVET’s teams of engineers, constructors and watchmakers worked together to master all the subtleties of this cutting-edge material. After an early career in the pharmaceutical industry, Owner was very familiar with the properties of titanium and knew that it was used in high-tech medical implants, due to its strength, lightness and biocompatibility.

BOVET uses grade 5 titanium, an alpha-beta alloy containing 90% titanium, 6% aluminum and 4% vanadium and which has the advantage of offering high strength, low density and good resistance to corrosion. In addition, grade 5 titanium guarantees excellent robustness in a natural environment, and is capable of resisting acidic environments, seawater and corrosive substances.

In line with BOVET’s commitment to sustainability, the titanium used to make the Recital 12 is fully recyclable, which reinforces the House’s conviction that it is possible to combine luxury and eco-responsibility.
